Rip and store all your music with Ripserver
March 4, 2008
It doesn’t get easier then this to back up your CD’s

Music CDs lying all around the living room are not a very nice idea. A veritable eyesore, in fact. Now Irish music solution provider Ripfactory has come out with an innovative solution to this problem with the very good looking music storage device called the Ripserver. This small very chic-looking device, not much bigger than a shoe box, but packs in quite a punch with it’s monstrous storage capacity of 1 terabyte. That is a thousand gigs of music storage. Very nice! Ripfactory. That means your entire music collection of upto 2400 albums in MP3 format can go into this handy little device. Now again, putting all that music into this device is juat as easy as well. Enter the CD drive, whose slot just looks like a post box slot. Slide in your audio CD’s, the Ripserver will rip them rightaway and archive them. what more, the Ripserver comes with a USB 2.0 port just in case you feel like ripping your music from a pen drive, from elsewhere right into the ripserver. Plug and Play. Very simple.
Buddy Beacon Goes 2.0, Gets Facebook Application
February 13, 2008

If you’re a Helio user , you’re probably familiar with the Buddy Beacon. I’ve been using Helio for a while, and it’s pretty cool to be able to look up my friends and see where they’re at. Anyway, uLocate (the guys behind Buddy Beacon) are rolling out a new version of the software today.
First up, Buddy Beacon will soon be available on a variety of networks, instead of being a Helio exclusive. This new alone is great, because I know a several people with Sprint and AT&T phones that would love to use this feature.
The other big news is that they are going to make Buddy Beacon compatible with Facebook. They have released an application (it’s still in Beta) so that your friends can see what you’re up to just by checking out your Facebook page. Personally, I don’t want to make it that easy for everyone to know where I am, but it’s certainly cool for those that are a bit more social than I.
Things on Wheels Coming to XBox Live Arcade This Summer
January 30, 2008
Racing Games: Seen one, seen ‘em all, right? With the new format of Burnout Paradise totally blowing my mind, I thought innovation would take a backseat for a bit while we got used to a new way of playing racers. Little did I know that game developer Load had something up its sleeves. In a partnership with Xbox Live Arcade, Load will be letting us in on what is sure to be a big Summer hit: Things on Wheels.

Things on Wheels lets you control your very own RC car through a big and shiny art deco mansion, avoiding obstacles and hazards like stacks of magazines in the living room and oven coils in the kitchen as you race from room to room. And it’s not just me that’s geeking out about the concept. Game publisher Southpeak Games saw the potential too: “Competing with real life remote control cars is great fun, so why not do it in a video game? ToW delivers the same reckless thrill,” says CEO Melanie Mroze in a company announcement.
Who didn’t love racing remote control cars when they were kids? Only now we can finally do it in the house without hearing it from mom! Expect to see Things on Wheels to hit XBox Live Arcade sometime this Summer.

Sandisk Shows Off Their USB Bling
January 10, 2008

If I told you that there were a ton of USB flash drives on the market, it would be a great understatement. It seems that everyone and their brother has a great idea for a cool-looking drive. Unfortunately this leads to many drives being sold that are well, ugly. Then again ugly to one is beautiful to another. Here’s an interesting USB necklace that I just can’t make up my mind about.
This interesting necklace from Sandisk is a hand-made gold pendant (sorry, we don’t know how many carats the gold is) with an Onyx center and a tiny diamond (again, no carat information). The diamond marks the handle which you’ll use to pull out the flash drive. The drive itself will contain somewhere between 4 and 12GB of storage. As for the price, it was apparently too high for them to mention at the show.
