Oakley’s Kitchen Sink Pack Includes Everything But… Well You Know How It Goes

February 13, 2008

Being a big fan of Oakley product.. I gotta have one of these!

Oakley sells a bunch of different bags and backpacks but if you want to get all their nifty features in one fell swoop you’ll have to go with the Kitchen Sink pack. It includes padded pockets for safely storing a mobile phone and a 17 inch laptop, and the top compartment is even compression molded allowing you to stick a pair of sunglasses inside without the fear of them being crushed. Alternately, the top compartment also has a headphone port if you want to carry your MP3 player in there while still listening to it.

There are cable zipper pulls for the main compartment that allow you to add a lock for security purposes while the mid-body access flap hides an organizer for less important items like pens. I particularly like the bottom compartment which includes drainage holes for items that might get soaking wet.

You can find the Kitchen Sink Pack on the Oakley website for $175.

Barry’s Farm Robot Laptop Sleeve

November 10, 2007

I found a selection of adorable laptop sleeves from Barry’s Farm a few weeks ago and PetSugar actually purchased one with an “awww” worthy hedgehog print, prompting jealousy from all the gals in the office. I’ll admit though, the designs I showed you were a tad girlie and a few male readers emailed asking if the company has anything for those with more masculine tastes. Boy do they ever! The Barry’s Farm Robot Laptop Sleeve, $40, features a cute robotic figure and customizable phrases like “Zorp!” on it.

Reebok Timetanium With Graphics By John Maeda

Hot Sneaks!!

If you’re a graphic designer type, you’re probably already familiar with the work of John Maeda, or at least should be. For those who aren’t, he’s a world-renowned graphic designer and computer scientist currently working as the Associate Director of Research at the MIT Media Lab. A lot of his work has a very mathematical almost high-tech Spirograph look to it, and you can see some of those designs worked into this custom pair of Reeboks.

Based on the Reebok Ventilator, the Timetanium not only sports graphics based on John Maeda’s original algorithms and computer code, but the inside of the shoe is even lined with his own hand-written calculations.

I would almost be tempted to grab a pair when they’re released on the RbkCustom website on November 13 if not for the fact that Reebok is only making 100 of them, which means they’re unfortunately not going to come cheap.

MP4 Video Watch - Now With FM Transmitter!

November 1, 2007

Wrist Watch MP4 Player With FM Transmitter, 4GB (Images courtesy Gadget-usb.com)

While the debate continues over whether or not a video can actually be enjoyed on a screen this small, manufacturers don’t seem to care. Instead they just keep churning out newer and better video-capable watches, and at cheaper prices. The latest model manages to add an FM broadcaster to the long list of features, which can be used with audio files or the audio portion of MP4 videos.

At 1.8 inches in size the OLED screen has a resolution of just 160×128 pixels, but on the plus side that tiny screen means you can enjoy about 4 hours of video playback on a full charge. (Or 7 if you stick to just audio and keep the screen off.) The built-in 4GB of memory is not too bad either, particularly when you consider how small a 160×128 video must be, and supported file formats include MP3, WMA, MP4 (audio and video), JPGs and e-books.

The watch is available from Gadget-USB.com for just $126.
